Tablatek is the genre name I use for music that fuses my two worlds of meditation and electronic dance music. It brings together traditional sounds of the East with the futuristic sounds of a technology driven era. For me, it symbolises a best of both worlds approach to life balance - utilising the wisdom of old and a knowledge of the new.

Salila - The tide is coming in and the moon is in its 3rd quarter as Salila's pulsing baseline and tabla groove flows by. A dreamy Sitar peers out from behind its perch. David Attenborough must be near by.

Nara is a moody, downtempo affair with strong Indian themes. Collectively bringing tabla, flute and sitar together with warm low slung basslines and cool spacey noises to give it a tek edge. It follows on from the style I started exploring when I made Princepessa - the music for my wedding ceremony.

Princepessa - 14/10/06
This is where it all began. Inspired to create some music for our Vedic style wedding ceremony, this 10 minute piece is a love dedication to my wife. More like a mini DJ set, Princepessa's sitars, shakers and tablas provide the Indian influences. Meanwhile, samples from Kruder & Dorfmeister, Trentemoller, Metro Area, Thompson Twins and INXS make this unlikely fusion a melting pot of old and new fused with ...(sighs) ….. eternal matrimonial love.
